When we recorded the live version of this song in Brooklyn at The End studios, the idea came to us to ask ALL of our friends and family to submit video and pictures that represent their ideas of America. There was such a variety of feelings captured and they somehow seem to strike a powerful balance. Thanks to Tara Autovino for editing this patchwork quilt of images so magically and THANKYOU to EVERYONE who sent in their images!
PLEASE MAKE YOUR OWN VIDEO and send it to us to share!
Thankyou,
Isaac, Thorald and Shakerleg
The Kin
The Kin drummer is Shakerleg. He completes the pyramid of the sound. He threw his sticks away some time ago and he makes sounds with his bare hands. The music of The Kin is in his veins. Isaac and Thorald will also have blogs, but here is Shakerleg’s Blog housed graciously on the Modern Drummer website. Enjoy and spread the blog to your friends~!

The Kin
Its here! The music from the indie hit documentary, ‘Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead’, including the title track The Kin wrote and recorded in Nashville, TN especially for the film credits. Buy the single or the whole EP online now on ITUNES!
Set in an abrasive and economically devastated New York City, “The Price” tells the story of two outlaws and the bounty hunter who pursues them. Inspired by Italian Westerns of the 1960s, the film is a mash-up of “A Fistful Of Dollars” and “Mad Max” with a little “Escape From New York” to complete the highly stylized vision of this production. The film stars Carlos Gallardo (“el Mariachi”), Solomon Trimble (“Twilight”), Mali Elfman, Michael May & James St. Vincent.
Directed by long time friend and cohort, James St. Vincent, The Price is gaining some serious indie attention from Sundance to Comic Con. The Kin performed the original score and wrote the title track of the same name. The Kin also appeared in the movie as bounty hunters. Watch the trailer!
